Bart Heynen, a Belgian portrait photographer, recently moved with his family to New York City. He received a Master of Arts degree at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and attended the International Center of Photography in New York. Prior to moving to New York, Bart Heynen worked as a freelance photographer in Belgium and the Netherlands where he focused on editorial work for De Standaard, De Morgen, De Tijd, Weekend Knack, Psychologies, Elle, Het Nieuwsblad, De Volkskrant, and Vrij Nederland. Waterlanders(2011) and Slapers (2016)are the titles of the two monographs published in Belgium by Lido and Luster. In both books Heynen captures intimate and vulnerable moments of well known people from Belgium and The Netherlands. His third monograph Dads is his first monograph published in the USA. It was released on May 18th 2021. Dads is a journey into gay fatherhood in the United States.
